Chennai, Sept 21:
Tamil Nadu Finance Minister N Maria Wilson met Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in New DelhiĀ and urged her to ensure fair share of central tax revenues for the state and expedite release of due share of funds, clear pending GST compensation, besides giving financial freedom for states for energy transition and increasing FPO credit guarantee limit from Rs.two crores to five crores.
In a social media post, Wilson said he met Nirmala on the sidelines ofĀ the State Finance Ministersā conference on āFinancing Indiaās Journey Towards Viksit Bharatā, chaired by her at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, and submitted a memorandum containing key demands of the state.
During his meeting with Nirmala, Wilson said he raised several issues concerning the Stateās finances and development. He sought the early release of funds for schemes implemented jointly by the Centre and the State.
āWe will continue to work to safeguard Tamil Naduās fiscal rights and make overall development possible,ā Wilson said.
