Aichi-Nagoya, Sept 22:
India Women will face Sri Lanka in the Asian Games 2026 cricket final on Tuesday, with the defending champions aiming to retain the gold medal.
India have been unbeaten in the tournament, comfortably defeating Japan before producing a dominant performance against Bangladesh in the semi-final. Shafali Verma and Shree Charani have been among India’s impressive performers.
Sri Lanka, meanwhile, have also remained unbeaten. They defeated Malaysia in their opening match before chasing down Pakistan’s 177 in a high-scoring semi-final, setting up another major contest against India.
The final adds another chapter to an increasingly familiar rivalry. India and Sri Lanka have met three times in tournament finals over the past three years, including clashes in the Asian Games and Women’s Asia Cup.
