The Cine Musicians Union has announced plans to organise concerts in Singapore, Dubai and other countries to raise funds for constructing a new building for the union.
The announcement was made at the launch of âReinvention Tour â Music of the Millenniumâ in Chennai. Leading composers including Ilaiyaraaja, A.R. Rahman, Deva, Anirudh and Yuvan Shankar Raja are expected to be invited to participate.
Composer Gangai Amaran said the event would bring together musicians and singers from different generations. Actor Nassar recalled his association with Ilaiyaraaja during âAvatharamâ and said music had played a vital role in Tamil cinema. Director R.V. Udhayakumar highlighted the challenges posed by AI and stressed the need to strengthen the union.
