Guwahati, Sept 30:
Guwahati will host the second ODI between India and the West Indies on Wednesday, with the visitors looking to bounce back from their defeat in Thiruvananthapuram and keep alive their hopes of ending a 24-year wait for a bilateral ODI series win in India.
The West Indies showed promise in the opening game, with Justin Greaves scoring his maiden ODI century and combining with John Campbell for a 135-run opening stand. Campbell and Amir Jangoo also scored half-centuries, but the visitors will need significant improvement in bowling and fielding to challenge India.
India, meanwhile, enters the game with confidence. Shubman Gill, the worldâs top-ranked ODI batter, is in excellent form, while Virat Kohli looked aggressive in the series opener. Kuldeep Yadavâs return also strengthened the bowling attack as India builds towards next yearâs World Cup.
