Chennai, Sept 30:
The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has submitted a Detailed Project Report to the Tamil Nadu government for
a new elevated road connecting the Tambaram-Porur stretch with the rear side of Chennai airport.
The proposed road across the Adyar River is aimed at reducing congestion on GST Road and providing easier access for passenger and cargo vehicles. AAI is awaiting State government approval to take up the project.
The proposal is linked to the airport’s expansion plans, including a fifth terminal and the upcoming integrated Terminal 3.
