Chennai, Sept 30:
Metro fares on the 14.64-km Poonamallee Bypass–Vadapalani stretch will range from Rs 10 to Rs 40, according to the fare chart released for the Phase II corridor.
The fare will be Rs 10 between Poonamallee Bypass and Poonamallee Bus Stand, while journeys to Poonamallee Government Hospital, Karayanchavadi, Kumananchavadi and Kattupakkam will cost Rs 20. The fare rises to Rs 30 for stations towards Porur and Rs 40 for Vadapalani.
The corridor, part of Corridor 4, has 11 elevated stations. The fare chart will be uploaded on the Chennai Metro Rail website after the inauguration.
The stretch is expected to open on October 11, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi likely to inaugurate it. Initial services are expected to run at 10-minute intervals, with around 15 trains deployed.
