Chennai airport expansion gathers pace

The State government has initiated preliminary steps for the expansion of Chennai airport by appointing a Special District Revenue Officer to oversee land acquisition for the project.

Chennai, Oct 2:
The State government has initiated preliminary steps for the expansion of Chennai airport by appointing a Special District Revenue Officer to oversee land acquisition for the project.
D Ambayiranathan has been appointed to the post. He was earlier working as a Land Acquisition Officer in the Highways Department in Villupuram.
The appointment is expected to facilitate the land acquisition process required for the proposed airport expansion.
The move comes as authorities work on expanding Chennai’s aviation infrastructure to meet the city’s future passenger and operational requirements.
