The fourth schedule of director Bakkiyaraj Kannan’s much-awaited action thriller Benz, starring Raghava Lawrence in the lead, has commenced.
Passion Studios, one of the production houses backing the project, announced the development on Saturday through its social media handles and also shared behind-the-scenes pictures from the sets.
The film has generated considerable curiosity with Malayalam actor Nivin Pauly playing the antagonist. He will be seen in two roles, including that of Walter, the principal villain.
Nivin had earlier indicated that the third schedule had been completed when he shared pictures from the sets in November last year with the caption “Darkness Loading” and hashtags suggesting the schedule wrap.
The actor’s portrayal of Walter has already created interest following the release of his character promo. The promo presented him in a striking avatar, sporting gold ornaments and wielding a large metal hammer, while also introducing another character played by Nivin.
Benz is written and directed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan, while filmmaker Lokesh Kanagaraj is among its producers. Lokesh is producing the film along with Sudhan Sundaram and Jagadish Palanisamy.
The film is also part of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe, with Nivin recently confirming that the characters in Benz belong to the LCU. His comments have further fuelled speculation about possible links with established characters from the franchise.
The technical crew includes music composer Sai Abhyankkar, cinematographer Gautham George and editor Philomin Raj. Jacki is the art director, while Pradeep Boopathi serves as creative producer.
