UJJAIN:
Madhya Pradesh has accelerated infrastructure works in Ujjain as the temple town prepares to host the 2028 Simhastha.
The State government has approved 128 projects involving an estimated Rs 13,851 crore, covering roads, bridges, ghats, hotels and other facilities required to handle the expected influx of pilgrims and visitors.
Authorities are working against a tight deadline to complete the infrastructure overhaul before the religious gathering. The projects are expected to significantly alter the city’s transport network and civic infrastructure.
The preparations have also brought increased attention to accommodation, traffic management and facilities for pilgrims as Ujjain gets ready for one of the country’s largest religious gatherings.
