Mumbai, Oct 13:
India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant has been ruled out of the first two matches of India A’s multi-day tour of New Zealand due to a left-side strain sustained during the Irani Cup in September.
The BCCI has named Kumar Kushagra as his replacement. Pant remains under the care of the BCCI medical team, with a decision on his availability for the third match to be taken later.
The injury has raised concerns over Pant’s availability for India’s senior team’s two-Test series against New Zealand, beginning November 19. However, the BCCI is yet to announce the squad, and his participation remains uncertain.
India A will play three matches from October 24 to November 10 in Lincoln and Christchurch, with Dhruv Jurel continuing as captain.
