Superstar Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 is on course to become the highest-grossing Tamil film of all time, having collected approximately Rs 477 crore worldwide in its first five days, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. The Nelson Dilipkumar directorial earned around Rs 42 crore in India on Monday, taking its domestic gross to approximately Rs 288 crore.
The film opened in theatres on October 15 and registered an estimated worldwide opening-day collection of Rs 125.25 crore. It is now aiming to surpass the lifetime collection of Rajinikanth’s 2.0, which is reported to have grossed around Rs 670 crore worldwide. The sequel features an ensemble cast including Ramya Krishnan, Mohanlal, Vijay Sethupathi, SJ Suryah, Vidya Balan and Jackie Shroff.
