Gaza,Oct 21:
An Israeli pre-dawn airstrike on an apartment in Gaza killed two people and wounded several others, Palestinian hospital officials said on Tuesday, amid continuing violence despite a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas.
The victims, a man and his wife, were taken to Shifa Hospital, which received their bodies. The Israeli military said it had targeted a Hamas militant in the attack. The strike followed a series of Israeli attacks on Monday that killed at least four people, according to reports from the territory.
The latest incident has added to concerns over the safety of civilians living in densely populated residential areas, where military operations continue to cause casualties and damage.
More than a year after the ceasefire agreement, Israeli strikes have continued against what the military describes as Hamas targets. Gaza’s Health Ministry has reported that more than 1,500 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces since the ceasefire began.
The ministry, which operates under the Hamas-run administration, does not distinguish between civilians and combatants in its overall death toll. Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu suggested during a video call with US President Donald Trump that the two countries could launch further attacks on Iran.
His remarks have raised concerns about the possibility of a wider regional escalation, even as violence continues in Gaza.
