Washington, Oct 28:
Former Miss Switzerland contestant Beatrice Keul has accused US President Donald Trump of raping her at New York’s Plaza Hotel in November 1993, according to a report released by Democratic members of the US House Judiciary Committee.
Keul, who was 24 at the time and working as a model and financial services professional, alleged that she met Trump during a beauty pageant-related event. According to the report, Trump offered to help her obtain a US visa and secure admission to New York University. Jeffrey Epstein, the convicted sex offender, also allegedly approached her and offered assistance.
Keul alleged that a Trump representative later invited her to a hotel suite, where Trump sexually assaulted her, leaving her with injuries. She further claimed that he subsequently pressured her to remain silent. The allegations form part of a broader report examining Trump’s past association with Epstein and claims concerning the treatment of women recruited through beauty pageants.
The report also calls for an independent investigation into Epstein’s associates and the handling of related records by the US Justice Department. Its findings represent allegations and conclusions presented by Democratic committee staff, not a judicial determination.
The White House strongly rejected Keul’s allegations. Spokesperson Lauren Bis said the claims were untrue and described the report as a politically motivated attempt to undermine Trump. Trump has not been charged in connection with Keul’s allegations.
The report has renewed scrutiny of Trump’s past links to Epstein, whose sex-trafficking activities and connections with influential figures have remained the subject of investigations and public controversy.
