Erode, Nov 4:
Chief Minister Vijay named a newborn infant after himself and presented a gold ring during his tour through Erode district on Tuesday. The spontaneous interaction took place while the Chief Minister was acknowledging greetings along the roadshow corridor.
While traversing through the Perundurai highway stretch, a local resident, Deepa, made her way through the gathering holding her one-month-old infant in her arms, earnestly requesting the Chief Minister to name her child. Acknowledging her affection, the Chief Minister halted his vehicle, received the baby with warmth, and affectionately whispered the name “Vijay” into the child’s ear.
Amid loud cheers and applause from party supporters and onlookers, the Chief Minister then took off a personal gold ring and gifted it to the baby as a commemorative blessing. He extended his best wishes to the mother and family, inquiring about the child’s health and family wellbeing before resuming his convoy route toward the venue.
Visuals of the emotional exchange quickly gained traction across digital platforms and local television channels, with citizens lauding the Chief Minister’s approachable public persona. Local district organizers noted that spontaneous interactions with ordinary citizens and women self-help group members remained a standout highlight of his western district tour.
