Chennai, Nov 5:

Bank of India (BOI), Chennai Zone, observed Vigilance Awareness Week from October 26 to November 1, 2026, conducting a series of operational programmes, seminars, and civic outreach initiatives to foster ethical conduct, transparency, and accountability across its branches and administrative offices.

Aligned with the Central Vigilance Commission’s (CVC) theme, “Vigilance – Probity for Prosperity,” the campaign kicked off with staff taking the Integrity Pledge administered by Mohan Marethi, Zonal Manager, Bank of India, Chennai Zone. As part of capacity building, K. Kumaresan, Assistant Superintendent of Police, CBI (STB), Chennai, addressed bank personnel on banking frauds, preventive vigilance, anti-corruption statutory frameworks, and ethical professional conduct.

The public lender also extended the awareness drive to the community, organizing drawing and rangoli competitions on vigilance themes alongside a tree-planting drive for around 80 students at the Government Girls High School in Gummidipoondi. The week-long campaign culminated on October 31 with bank employees forming a human chain at the Chennai Zonal Office and designated branches, reaffirming collective commitment to a corruption-free work culture and transparent governance.
