Chennai, Nov 6:
State BJP president Nainar Nagenthran on Thursday mounted a fierce counter-attack against Minister R. Nirmalkumar’s accusations that the opposition was attempting to destabilise the TVK government with BJP support, calling the ruling party the true perpetrator of horse-trading.
Dismissing the minister’s claims that DMK and AIADMK were trying to bribe TVK legislators as a “poor joke,” Nagenthran alleged that the ruling regime is manufacturing conspiracy theories to divert public attention from rampant administrative collapse. “People will dismiss these baseless allegations as a poor joke and will not fall for your attempts to divert attention,” he said in an official statement.
Nagenthran asserted: “Nirmalkumar, it’s a mirror. However many false allegations you make, you cannot conceal your administrative incompetence or the continuing governance failures under the TVK regime.” He claimed the Vijay-led administration is actively poaching rival MLAs to stabilise a fragile minority government dependent on outside support, while attempting to deflect scrutiny away from controversial policies like power procurement at Rs 41.50 per unit and custodial lapses.
