Chennai: CountryĀs second largest car manufacturer, Hyundai Motor India Ltd has launched the new Santro at a starting price of Rs 3.89 lakh. The hatchback Hyundai says is the firm’s R&D innovation in modern mobility.
Hyundai says the car was built using six pillars – modern stylish tall boy design, comfortable and premium cabin, new age technology, customer centric safety, all round performance and complete peace of mind. The car is is aimed at family buyers.
Speaking at the World Premiere of car launch, MD and CEO, HMIL, Y K Koo, said, “Today is a Historic moment as we announce the ĀWorld Premiere of the all new Santro. The Santro is an iconic and legendary brand in India that has won the hearts of millions of customers for last two decades. The magic of Santro continues with the all new Santro receiving overwhelming response in less than two weeks. With modern tall boy design, the new Santro will set a new benchmark in modern mobility.”
The car comes with Android Auto and Apple Car Play and has a segment first 17.64 cm touch screen infotainment system along with reversing camera. There is ABS with EBD as standard, dual front airbags with standard driver airbag impact sensing auto door unlock and rear parking sensors.
There is a four-cylinder 1.1 litre petrol engine offering 69 ps of power, mated with option of MT and in-house developed AMT transmissions. The Santro also comes with three years/one lakh kms warranty and three years road side assistance.
