Chennai: Those who force children to beg on streets should be given strict punishment. The Central and State governments should do more for the welfare of the children, said actor Rajinikanth.
Speaking at Peace for Children charity concert organised by Latha Rajainikanth’s Shree Dayaa Foundation here on Saturday, Rajinikanth said, “Children are the future of the nation. They are little flowers on this earth. When they are forced to beg on streets, the governments never bother to enquire and put an end to this. There is a big mafi a behind this crime. They should be punished strictly.”
Earlier on the occasion, an app was launched with toll free numbers for the safety of children. Latha Rajinikanth, actor Dhanush were among those present on the occasion.
