Chennai: To revive and rejuvenate the traditional folk arts, The Other Media is organising its annual ‘Veedhi Virudhu Vizha’ at Loyola College on 19 and 20 January.
“There are over 5,000 folk artistes in our State. However, owing to westernisation, they do not get more opportunities to perform in the city. This year, The Other Media has partnered with several not-for-profit organisations across the city to organise the event. About 350 artistes will also be honoured for their contribution in keeping the folkart alive,” said Bala, one of the organisers.
