Melmaruvathur: As part of 79th birthday celebrations of Bangaru Adigalar, free eye check-up camp was conducted and 22,000 patients underwent cataract operation at Melmaruvathur.
The four-day eye camp started on 22 February and during the valedictory function, spectacles were given to 1,046 people. The patients, who attended the camp were provided with food and medicine.
Kanchipuram District Collector Ponnaiah, Madhuranthagam Revenue Officer, Malathi, Seyyur Tahsildar, Senthil Kumar, Sithaamoor Regional Developmental Officer, Sivakumar, Adhiparasakthi Medical College director Dr A Mohan Singh and officials took part.
