Synopsis

A Fortunate Man

In the late 19th century, Peter Sidenius is an ambitious young man from a devout Christian family in Western Denmark, who travels to the Danish capital of Copenhagen to study engineering, rebelling against his clergyman father. He comes into contact with the intellectual circles of a wealthy, Jewish family and seduces the elder daughter, Jakobe. Per, as he now calls himself, conceives a large-scale engineering project including the construction of a series of canals in his native Jutland, and lobbies for its construction. But just as Per seems to be about to make his dreams come true, his pride stands in the way.

I Am William

William lives with his uncle Nils. His father is dead and his mother is mentally unstable. Nils retired early and spends his day buying and selling stuff at a favourable price. Nils owes some gangsters money and they want their debt paid back.

The Stranger

Amanda has found the perfect man online – he’s kind, funny and the heir to one of the richest families in Denmark. She lets him into her home and life, but is he really who he says he is?

The Charmer

The Charmer is an intense psychological drama about Esmail, a young Iranian man who is desperately looking to meet women who can secure his stay in Denmark. As time is running out he falls in love and his past catches up with him.

The President from the North

The President from the North is the positive integration story from Denmark of immigrant Ahmed, who after 50 years in Denmark had become so Danish that he wanted go give the best he had learned back to his motherland Jubaland in Somalia. With a suitcase full of ideas and the dream of making a difference, Ahmed returns to Somalia. But nothing goes as hi expected and back in Denmark his wife Zahra and daughter Idil becomes more and more impatient with him.
