Madurai: Clash broke out between prisoners and wardens in the Central jail yesterday and two inmates were seriously injured in the incident.
According to media reports, two prisoners were separated for frisking and situation worsened after the prisoners shouted about lack of basic amenities in the jail.
Several of the inmates climbed up walls and pelted stones at the prison officials. After nearly three hours, the situation was brought under control. A strong contingent of policemen has been deployed at the prison, said a media report.
