Hyderabad:Â Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE) announced yesterday that the Intermediate Public Advanced Supplementary Examinations (IPASE) would be held from 25 May to 1 June.
The exam was earlier announced to be held from 16 May. The TSBIE made the announcement after students and parents protested against the alleged goof up in the exam results declared on 18 April.
An official release issued by the board said the Intermediate first year, i.e., class 11, exams would be held in forenoon session, and the class 12 exams would be held in the afternoon session.
State-wide protests were held by students, parents, students’ organisations and several political parties also condemned the matter.
Opposition Congress, TDP, BJP and other parties complained to Governor ESL Narasimhan and sought a judicial probe into the alleged goof-up. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who held a meeting with officials on the issue a few days ago, had directed them not to charge any fee for re-verification and re-counting from failed students. The government has also announced that failed students need not apply for re-counting and re-verification. Thousands of students, who passed the examination, have also applied for re-verification. Following this, the TRS-led government set up a three-member committee to look into the issue.
The comprising technical experts pointed out certain lapses and suggested various measures for improvement and submitted a report to the government. In its report, the committee pointed out mistakes (in publication of results) like not displaying practical exam marks in the memos of certain geography students, education secretary B Janardhan Reddy had said.
