Chennai: In connection to the investigation in the ISIS Kerala-Tamilnadu module case, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) officials interrogated three Puzhal Central Jail inmates for nearly three hours.
The three -‘Police’ Fakrudeen, Panna Ismail and Bilal Malik – are serving jail term since 2013 for being involved in five murder cases related to leaders of a Hindu outfit and the BJP.
They were accused in the murders of Hindu Munnani state secretary S Vellaiyappan, BJP senior functionaries, Dr V Arvind Reddy, ‘Auditor’ Ramesh and two others.
Also, Fakrudeen and Malik were accused in a case related to a failed bid to assassinate BJP leader L K Advani in Madurai in 2011.
They are currently lodged in high security blocks in the central jail. The NIA team led by a Deputy Police Superintendent questioned them for about three hours.
On 12 June, searches at seven locations in Coimbatore were conducted and the accused, including Mohammed Azarudeen and Shiek Hidayathullah, in the ISIS module case were arrested.
