P T Thomas

Kottayam: Accusing the Pinarayi Vijayan government, senior Congress leader and Thrikkakkara MLA P T Thomas yesterday claimed that phones of political leaders and mediapersons in State were being tapped.

Speaking at a press conference, Thomas claimed that the LDF government had set up a special cell in the police department for tapping the phones of the political leaders and even the Chief Minister’s own party colleagues.

The MLA further slammed the CM by saying that he was running away from the State assembly and does not reply to the issues raised by the opposition.

He also claimed 44 state government officials had been suspended for criticising the functioning of the government and the Chief Minister in the social media.

Pointing at custodial deaths in the State, he said such cases were increasing in Kerala under the LDF rule. He said that the police officials who are responsible for such deaths must compensate the victims family.
