Hyderabad: AIMIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi has been accused of making hate speeches last month, and two cases have been filed against him in Hyderabad and Karimnagar court.
On 23 July the MLA had stated at a public meeting in Karimnagar that the RSS had not yet recovered from the 15-minute blow he had delivered in his 2012 speech.
A media report said, on Wednesday, advocate B Mahender Reddy had filed a complaint in a Karimnagar court against the MLA. He alleged that Akbaruddin’s comments polluted peace and provoked enmity between two communities.
Following this, advocate Kashimshetty Karunasagar filed a private complaint before the 14th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court yesterday. He accused Owaisi of making a hate speech at Karimnagar last month.
Last week VHP and Bajrang Dal held a protest alleging that Owaisi made anti-Hindu statements. They demanded the government to arrest the MLA
Meanwhile, Akbaruddin denied making any offensive comments and said that his statements were being twisted for political gains.
The media report claimed that police officials in Karimnagar had not received any directions from the court so far. Also they would seek legal opinion on the complaint made by VHP and Bajrang Dal before proceeding further.
