Lady Andal and Ramakrishna to meet in JSK final

Chennai: Lady Andal School, Chennai defeated Vidya Mandir in a closely contested semi-final, held recently at Thirunelveli to enter the summit clash of the Junior Super Kings Inter-School T20 Championship.

Batting first, Lady Andal scored 134 for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs. R Rishi top scored with 40 while Vaidyanathan and Arvindh chipped in with vital knocks of 30 and 24 respectively.

Chasing the target, Vidya Mandir came close but in the end finished short by five runs after scoring 129 for the loss of six wickets. S Adithya from Lady Andal picked up three wickets to restrict Vidya Mandir.

In another match, left-arm spinner M Pranesh’s three for 12) helped Sri Ramakrishna MHSS (Coimbatore) defeated Plato’s Academy (Tirupur) by seven wickets. Ramakrishna MHSS and Lady Andal will meet on Monday in the final.

Brief scores: Lady Andal MHSS (Chennai) 134 for 7 in 20 overs (K Vaidyanathan 30, R Rishi 40, M Arvindh 28*, R Bharat Srinivas 3/25) beat Vidya Mandir MHSS (Chennai) 129 for 6 in 20 overs (L Ramnath 25, John Tarun George 29, Vishaakh E Menon 21, S Adithya 3/22, Aarave S Ahuja 2/16).

Plato’s Academy (Tirupur) 106 for 7 in 20 overs (SJ Arun Kumar 36, M Pranesh 3/12, V Adithya Nath Patel 2/25) lost to Sri Ramakrishna MHSS (Coimbatore) 110 for 3 in 17.3 overs (S Harjith
45, G Susheel 28, SJ Arun Kumar 2/14).
