
Chennai: When there is a fear of coronavirus spread and the country is under lockdown, a person found with covid-19 symptoms is quarantined and those who came into contact with him/her will also be isolated.
But the biggest question is how will the entire set of individuals who met the virus affected person will be found out. The doctors and health officials have to rely on what the patient says.
To help overcome this problem, a group of young techies led by Joseph Jegan has come out with a simple tool. They have devised a website youmayhelp.com for the purpose.
Speaking to News Today, Joseph Jegan, says, “youmayhelp.com is an initiative towards the society to protect people from Covid-19.”
He adds, “Our mission is to collect the contact details of people who have connected face to face in their day-to-day life or occasionally after the Covid-19 widespread. This information will be shared only to the government authorities based on their request”.
He says, “For instance, if you avail a service from a person such as food/package delivery man or milk supplier, etc., you can save their contact numbers in youmayhelp.com. In case either if you have been identified with Covid-19, then both can be contacted and treated further. Eventually, we can map the origin and prevent the further spread of the virus.”
He is confident that if youmayhelp.com is properly utilised, COVID-19 can be completely controlled in coming days.
