Chennai: In a big relief to tipplers who are suffering without liquor ever since lockdown came into effect during the last week of March, the Tamilnadu government today announced that TASMAC liquor shops would be reopened in the State 7 May.
The government said apart from containment zones where a large number of coronavirus cases were found, the liquor outlets would be opened in all other areas of the State.
It also announced various restrictions including social distancing while buying liquor and deployment of additional number of staff members at the State-owned liquor shops. Bars will remain closed however.
