Legendary singer A L Raghavan passes away

Chennai: Veteran playback singer and actor A L Raghavan (80) breathed his last morning in a private hospital in Chennai where he was admitted after suffering a massive heart attack.

He is survived by his wife M N Rajam, a veteran artiste for over five decades. She is a much-respected character artiste in Tamil cinema for five decades.

Raghavan who started his music career in 1947 has sung hundreds of songs. His popular songs include Paappa Paappa Kathaikelu, Once a Pappa Met a Mama, Andru Oomai Pennallo, Engirindhalum Vaazhga, Moondru Thamizh and many more.

Raghavan has acted in several movies and serials with his last one being the Sun TV mega serial Ahalya in which he was one of the lead.
