Chennai: With the lockdown being extended for another 31 days, the Tamilnadu police continue to book violators of curfew.
Close to 9,22,070 persons are booked for violating norms of social distancing and venturing out during curfew.
Nearly 8,38,141 violations have been recorded by the police in various districts and FIRs have been registered against them, a press release from DGP’s office said today.
The restrictions have been imposed across the State to curb the spread of coronavirus since 24 March. As many as 6,58,745 vehicles were seized from these persons.
However, the vehicles are being returned to their owners in a phased manner. A total amount of Rs 19,26,35,528 has been collected from violators as fine since March.
