Chennai: The controversies regarding the Kandha Sashti Kavasam refuse to die down. The City Crime Branch has arrested film director Velu Prabhakaran for allegedly making controversial statements against ‘Kandha Sashti Kavasam’ in a Youtube Channel.
A case was registered after Mahesh, the South Chennai district leader of the Hindu People’s Party, lodged a complaint with the City Police Commissioner’s Office.
In the complaint, he said, “In an interview for a YouTube channel, Velu Prabhakaran slandered Hindus and Hinduism. He also spoke in support of Karuppar Koottam.”
The Cyber Cell of City Police is investigating the case. It may be noted that founder and members of Karuppar Kootam Youtube channel were recently booked under Goondas Act under the order of City Commissioner Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal.
The controversial YouTube channel had made derogatory comments on Lord Muruga and ‘Kandha Sashti Kavasam’.
