New Delhi: India recorded 53,601 new Coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally to 22,68,675.
According to Union Ministry data released this morning, the death rate increased to 45,257 with 871 new fatalities.
The recovery rate surged to 15,83,489. There are 6,39,929 active cases of coronavirus infection in the country presently which comprise 28.21 per cent of the total caseload in the country.
The Covid-19 cases in India dipped below 55,000 in a single day today after the country recorded over 60,000 cases daily for four days on the trot, the data said.
According to the ICMR, a cumulative total of 2,45,83,558 samples have been tested up to 9 August, with 4,77,023 samples being tested on Monday.
