Chennai: Sri Parthasarathy Swami Sabha has announced an online music concert by Gayathri Venkataraghavan, to commemorate the 60th year of a special concert presented by M S Subbulakshmi on 11 September 1960.
This special concert was a fund raiser and presided by C P Ramaswamy Iyer, who gave a historical speech on the occasion.
M Krishnamurthy, secretary, Parthasarathy Swami Sabha, said, “to commemorate the 60th year of the special concert presented by Bharat Ratna Dr M S Subbulakshmi 60 years ago, we have organised this online concert.”
He added: “We are planning for a Facebook live concert on 16 September 2020 which incidentally is also the birthday of M S Subbulakshmi. This concert will begin at 7:30 pm and can be viewed on Sri Parthasarathy Swami Facebook page.”
V Shrinivasan, grandson of Subbulakshmi, will deliver the keynote address and inaugurate the concert.
