Chennai: VCK leader Thol Thirumavalavan’s recent comments on Hindu women have drawn sharp criticisms from various sections.
Speaking to a Youtube channel, Thirumavalavan took a dig at Sanathana Dharmam and Hindu beliefs. He said it treated Hindu women as sex workers.
Though his supporters said that the video should be viewed fully and that he did not mean so, several Hindu outfits have condemned Thirumavalavan.
They said it is like a video that spoke bad of Kanda Sashti Kavasam. Ashwathaman of Tamilnadu BJP legal cell has filed a complaint with Chennai police seeking action against the VCK leader. He said in the complaint that Thiruma’s utterances are aimed creating hatred between religious communities and they are uncalled for.
A few others have also filed complaints. Meanwhile in a tweet this morning, Thiruma said that his quote has been purposefully misinterpreted and said he stressed that Sanathana Dharmam treated women badly.
