Chennai: Tamilnadu continued to report a little over 33,000 new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday. However, the number of deaths due to Covid continued to rise with another 364 persons succumbing to the infection in the State.
Cemeteries in the city are filling up fast due to more number of deaths being recorded since the beginning of this year, making churches and those managing burial sites desperate.
Some of the major Christian cemeteries in the city include the centuries old Kilpauk Cemetery, Kasimedu Cemetery, Quibble Island Cemetery, St Maryās Corporation Cemetery among others.
After seeing a decline for three days, fresh Covid-19 cases increased to 34,875 compared to 33,059 on Tuesday. This includes 6,267 fresh cases in Chennai.
