Chennai: Tamilnadu has registered 30 fresh COVID-19 cases and the active cases stood at 228, while there were no deaths.
While nine districts reported less than five cases each, Chennai logged 16 and the rest of 28 other districts recorded nil infections, a Health department’s coronavirus bulletin said.
A total of 31 patients were discharged following recovery and 20,063 is the number of RT-PCR samples tested.
There has been a marginal increase in the number of new Covid-19 infections in Tamilnadu as 30 people tested positive for the virus on Sunday. Among them, 16 were from Chennai. This included two clusters — six from a family in Thiruvanmiyur and a Korean family, which had returned from Mauritius after a tour, said state health department authorities.
On the other hand, a brisk recovery rate has helped in keeping the number of active cases in the district below 100.
