Chennai: Tamilnadu added 27 fresh Covid-19 cases on Monday, a slight decrease from 30 cases it registered on Sunday.
The fresh cases were reported in Chennai and six other districts.
In Chennai, 15 persons tested positive for Covid-19. With this, a total of 7,51,301 persons have tested positive for the infection in the city. There were four cases in Chengalpattu and three in Coimbatore. Madurai, Sivaganga, Tiruvallur and Thoothukudi reported one case each.
Of the 232 active cases, Chennai had 103 followed by 37 patients in Chengalpet and 19 in Coimbatore. While 19 districts had between one and nine patients under treatment for the viral infection, 16 districts had no active cases.
As many as 14,331 samples were tested. This took the total number of samples tested so far to 6,59,51,259.
There were no patients hospitalized with Covid-19 in 32 districts. There were 13 inpatients in hospitals in six districts for Covid-19 treatment.
