Rumours are abuzz that the AICC may soon announce a new president for Tamilnadu Congress Committee (TNCC). Names of senior leaders Sasikanth Das, Selvaperunthagai and Jothimani are doing rounds.
Sources close to Alagiri say that they have sought an audition with AICC chief Mallikarjun Kharge to request the central high command to give an extension for Alagiri as TNCC chief.Ā We expect the AICC to take a call on extending incumbent Alagiriās tenure or appoint his replacement soon to put an end to the uncertainty,ā said a TNCC functionary.
However sympathisers of Selvaperunthagai and Sasikanth Das are hoping for change of guard.
