Devotees have been requested not to bring mobile phones inside Palani Dhandayuthpani temple beginning 1 October.Commissioner of the temple Marimuthu said devotees are requested to hand over their mobile phones to special counters erected near Rope Car station in the temple paying Rs five as deposit.
Remember aĀ special division bench of the Madras High Court directed the state to implement the mobile phone ban in all the temples.
Three counters were created to collect the mobile phones and to keep them in the counter, read the report. The devotees will be charged Rs 5 as a nominal fee and the temple staff will be stationed at each counter from October 1, a report said.
