In a surprising turn of events, renowned actor Gautami Tadimalla recently announced her departure from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after a 25-year association. Citing “lack of support” and expressing concerns about alleged collusion within the party, Gautami’s exit has sparked a public debate. However, the Tamil Nadu unit chief of the BJP, K. Annamalai, swiftly responded, stating that there was a misunderstanding and the party had been supportive of Gautami.
Gautami’s decision to leave the BJP was fueled by her perception of inadequate support and suspicions of certain party members colluding with an individual who allegedly defrauded her. The actor, who is widely respected for her contributions to Indian cinema, raised these concerns as the primary reasons for her resignation from the party.
In response to Gautami’s departure, K. Annamalai, the Tamil Nadu BJP unit chief, asserted that there had been open communication between the party and the actor. He revealed that he had personally spoken to Gautami Tadimalla on the phone and emphasized that the party had supported her in getting an FIR registered regarding the alleged fraud. However, he acknowledged that Gautami had expressed concerns about some BJP workers trying to protect the accused, which she viewed as a lack of support. Annamalai was quick to clarify that the party had no intention of protecting the accused and that there was a misunderstanding regarding this issue.
