Chennai, Jan 22: As the DMK Youth Wing conference unfolded in Salem, Tamil Nadu’s Sports and Youth Welfare Minister, Udhayanidhi Stalin, expressed the primary goal of the event: removing the BJP from the Centre to safeguard the state’s rights. Udhayanidhi emphasized the need to reclaim authority over taxes, education policies, and other domains that, according to him, were seized by the Centre.During the conference, Government Chief Whip Govi Chezhiyan unveiled portraits of language martyrs and expressed confidence in the DMK winning 40 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. Chezhiyan urged Udhayanidhi to be declared as the Deputy Chief Minister, praising him as a torchbearer for the conference and someone who would lead the party for the next 50 years.
DMK’s State Deputy Secretary of the Youth Wing, S Joel, lauded Udhayanidhi as a leader of future Tamil Nadu, emphasizing his commitment to protecting the state’s culture, soil, and people’s rights. Joel stated that Udhayanidhi has the capability to chase away political adversaries and is the shining star of future Tamil Nadu.
The conference took turn when State School Education Minister Mahesh Poyyamozhi suggested that if an opportunity arises for Chief Minister Stalin to become the Prime Minister candidate of the INDIA bloc, it should be considered seriously. This statement added a layer of political speculation to the event.
Further fueling the political buzz, DMK General Secretary Duraimurugan endorsed Udhayanidhi for the DMK leadership, comparing him to former CM Karunanidhi’s leadership. Duraimurugan expressed confidence in Udhayanidhi’s capability to lead in the next century, adding an intriguing dynamic to the evolving political landscape in Tamil Nadu.
