‘DMK running a corrupt govt

Addressing a gathering at BJP State President K Annamalai’s ‘En Mann En Makkal’ yatra in Mint Street, BJP chief JP Nadda delivered a keynote address replete with strong assertions and promises. Drawing parallels to the Emergency era, Nadda criticised the current administration led by the DMK, accusing it of running a corrupt and inefficient government. “With all shops closed, street lights off, and a heavy police presence, it felt like a throwback to the Emergency days. But let me be clear, the time has come to switch off the DMK government,” asserted Nadda, highlighting BJP’s commitment to transparent governance. Lauding Tamil Nadu’s cultural heritage, Nadda praised the contributions of saint-poet Tiruvalluvar and emphasized the special bond between the BJP and the state. He recounted Prime Minister Modi’s gestures towards Tamil Nadu, including the installation of the state’s proud scepter in the new Parliament and the posthumous recognition of agronomist MS Swaminathan with the Bharat Ratna. However, Nadda didn’t mince words when criticising the ruling DMK government, describing it as a symbol of “very, very bad governance.” He accused the DMK of lacking democratic principles and painted the acronym as standing for “Dynasty, Money Swindling, and Katta Panchayat.” Nadda also took aim at the opposition’s ‘INDIA Alliance,’ alleging it was formed solely to perpetuate family politics and safeguard the interests of political dynasties. He emphasized the need for change and expressed confidence in BJP’s prospects in the upcoming parliamentary elections. Highlighting the welfare schemes initiated by the Modi-led NDA government, Nadda underscored the benefits being extended to Tamil Nadu, including free medical insurance, gas connections, and financial assistance to farmers and women. He referenced recent announcements by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the Union Budget, further solidifying BJP’s commitment to the state’s welfare. In conclusion, Nadda’s address rallied support for the BJP, positioning the party as a beacon of change and progress for Tamil Nadu, while simultaneously castigating the DMK and opposition for perpetuating what he termed as detrimental family-centric politics.
