AMMK general Secretary TTV Dhinakaran has levied serious allegations against DMK functionaries, claiming their involvement in the widespread distribution of narcotic substances across Tamil Nadu. Speaking to reporters on Monday, Dhinakaran emphasized the urgent need for Chief Minister MK Stalin to take decisive action to curb this growing menace, which he argues is leading to frequent murders and escalating violence in the state.
Dhinakaran highlighted the alarming availability of narcotics, including ganja, attributing this proliferation to the activities of DMK functionaries. “The narcotic substances are widely available across the state, and the DMK functionaries are behind the distribution,” he charged. He further stated that the easy accessibility of these substances to the youth has resulted in a spike in violent crimes, including murders. “Since the narcotic substances are easily available, the youths have easy accessibility, and this results in at least 2 to 3 murders every day. Who is responsible for this?” he questioned.
Dhinakaran directed his criticism towards Chief Minister MK Stalin, urging him to leverage his control over the police force to address the issue. “The Chief Minister, who is responsible for this, should initiate immediate action to curb the drug menace in the state,” Dhinakaran asserted. He called for stringent measures against those involved in the narcotics trade to prevent further deterioration of law and order.
In a separate issue, Dhinakaran commented on the internal dynamics of the AIADMK, criticizing General Secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami (EPS). He claimed that EPS lacks the support of the AIADMK cadre because he was not elected to his position. “EPS is selfish and does not care about the party welfare, but all for his personal welfare. So, time will change everything,” he remarked. Dhinakaran’s statements reflect ongoing tensions within the AIADMK, with factions vying for control and influence.
Addressing speculation about a potential merger between AMMK and AIADMK, Dhinakaran firmly dismissed the possibility. “There was no chance for merging AMMK with AIADMK,” he stated, reaffirming the independence of his party amid the political turbulence.
