At a meeting of AIADMK functionaries in Omalur, former minister S.P. Velumani expressed confidence in AIADMK’s chances of forming the government in the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. The meeting, organized by the Omalur West and Tharamangalam North unions of AIADMK, was presided over by Omalur MLA Mani.
Speaking at the event, Velumani assured party workers that the AIADMK’s return to power is inevitable, as the public is eager for the party’s governance. “The only discussion among the people now is when AIADMK will return to power,” Velumani said, pointing out Edappadi K. Palaniswami’s efforts in implementing key projects such as the 100 lakes filling scheme, the Athikadavu-Avinashi project, and the Godavari-Cauvery river linking initiative.
Velumani criticized the current DMK government, stating that not a single project has been successfully implemented during their tenure. He questioned the effectiveness of Salem MP’s work under such an unproductive government and emphasized that while people may vote differently in Lok Sabha elections, they have a clear understanding that Assembly elections are a separate matter.
