The Tamil Nadu government has decided to distribute a special Pongal gift package to 2.21 crore rice ration cardholders in the state ahead of the Pongal festival, which falls on January 14.
The gift package will include 1 kilogram of raw rice, sugar, a whole sugarcane, and a cash amount of ₹1,000 for each cardholder.
