Condemns gang-rape of a minor girl on CoimbatoreAIADMK leader and opposition chief Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS) has accused the ruling DMK government of neglecting women’s safety while focusing on self-promotion and publicity campaigns.
In a statement, EPS expressed shock over the recent case of a 17-year-old girl who was allegedly gang-raped by seven men near Coimbatore. He lamented that under the DMK government, Tamil Nadu was turning into an unsafe place for women and girls.
Criticizing Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, EPS questioned why the government was only reacting after crimes occurred instead of taking preventive measures. He further asked if the CM, who often praises his father’s legacy, did not consider the victim as his own daughter and take responsibility for ensuring her safety.
Condemning the DMK’s alleged focus on propaganda over governance, EPS demanded strict legal action against those involved
