Tamil Nadu is one of the states with the lowest number of crimes against women and children, according to data from the National Crime Records Bureau.Chief Minister MK Stalin said that awareness is growing, and more people are filing complaints at police stations without fear, especially in cases under the POCSO Act.
He said that reporting crimes without fear is important. It helps police catch the criminal after the first offence itself and ensure they are punished. This also stops them from committing more crimes.
The Chief Minister added that the government’s policy is clear — fast investigation, strict punishment, and no pre-arrest bail in crimes against women and children.
