Naveen Pollineni, a 37-year-old treasury manager at Tirumala Milk Company in Chennai, was found dead in a hut near Puzhal. His hands were tied, raising suspicions of foul play. The incident comes as Naveen was under investigation for allegedly embezzling around ā¹45 crore from the company.Naveen had reportedly admitted to the fraud during an internal inquiry and had transferred ā¹5 crore back to the company. He was also said to have moved the money through accounts belonging to his family and friends. According to reports, before his death, Naveen had sent an email alleging that some company staff had threatened him and demanded a share of the embezzled funds. He warned that if anything happened to him, those individuals should be held responsible.
Although a complaint was lodged with the police and later forwarded to the Central Crime Branch, no formal case had been registered against Naveen before his death. The Puzhal police have filed a case of suspicious death and sent the body for post-mortem at Stanley Hospital.
Union leaders and political figures have called for a detailed and impartial investigation. They believe Naveen could not have acted alone and suspect involvement from others within the company. The demand for a CB-CID probe has gained momentum as questions grow around the mysterious circumstances of Naveenās death.
