Senior BJP leader K Annamalai has made a strong statement, saying, “We neither cheat nor get cheated.” This shows increasing tension between the BJP and AIADMK parties.Annamalai’s comments were a direct answer to AIADMK leader Edappadi K Palaniswami’s remarks about sharing power. Annamalai stressed that the BJP will not be underestimated or tricked by its partners. He added that all parties in an alliance should be respected.
He also explained why he was not at an AIADMK campaign event. Annamalai said that the presence of the BJP state president and a Union Minister meant the BJP was well represented. Finally, he denied rumors that he might become the BJP national general secretary, saying he is not interested in such a position.
